This project involved designing the logo, branding, and website for a luxury resort and residence in Lake Tahoe, California. The client wanted a visually striking logo that incorporates iconic elements of the region while maintaining a tech-forward, modern feel. The challenge was to balance traditional luxury with modern simplicity, reflecting the resort’s vision of high-tech amenities and digital integration. The resulting design evokes both the natural beauty of the area and the innovative experience the resort offers.

Responsive Logo System
The client envisioned a logo that not only represented the essence of Lake Tahoe but was also visually interesting enough to be used as a striking marketing element in large formats. Incorporating iconic elements like the California bear, mountains, lake, and the unique Cross Couloir—a snow formation that naturally forms a cross on the mountain—presented a challenge of balancing detail with legibility.

To meet these needs, a responsive logo system was developed, allowing for multiple versions that adapt seamlessly to different formats. The detailed version, ideal for large-scale applications like banners and marketing collateral, brings the client’s vision to life, showcasing every intricate element in full. For smaller applications, such as app icons or digital platforms, simplified versions were created to ensure clarity while preserving key design elements. This system ensures that the logo remains visually impactful and engaging at any scale.
Branding
The branding aimed to bridge traditional luxury with the resort’s tech-forward vision. Drawing inspiration from Lake Tahoe’s natural palette, the identity uses serene blues, green-blues, and soft beige pastels, contrasted with a vibrant, fluorescent yellow to reflect both the tranquility of the surroundings and the modern, high-tech amenities. The logo itself, featuring the mountains, trees, lake, and the sun, is not only the brand’s identifier but also functions as a recurring design element across marketing collateral. The branding visually connects the resort to its geographic roots while maintaining a sleek, modern feel that aligns with the technological sophistication of the development.
Website
With the resort still under development, the website serves as the main storyteller for the brand, inviting users to imagine what life or a stay at the resort will be like. The narrative approach guides users through a “day in the life” experience, showcasing the amenities, dining, and activities that the resort will offer. A siloed homepage design offers two distinct paths—‘Live’ and ‘Stay’—allowing users to explore either residential living or a luxurious vacation. The design is minimalist yet tech-forward, featuring playful animations and smooth transitions that keep users engaged while highlighting the resort’s futuristic vision.
